Joshua Jackson, the actor best known for Dawson’s Creek, is among the many affected by the ongoing wildfires in Southern California. His childhood home, located in Topanga Canyon and valued at $2 million, was destroyed in the flames that have been ravaging Los Angeles this week, according to reports from Page Six.
The house, once surrounded by lush greenery, was reduced to rubble, although the backyard and pool managed to survive the inferno. Unfortunately, the surrounding hills were left scorched by the fire’s path.
Jackson, who bought the property again in 2001, previously spoke about its deep sentimental value in an interview with Mr. Porter magazine. He fondly recalled how the house represented a simple, family-centered life. In 2023, during an interview with E! News, he shared that the house was “very baby-oriented” and had become a cherished home for him and his family.
At the time of the fire, Jackson was living there with his ex-wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, and their daughter, Juno. The house held significant emotional value for Jackson, especially since it was where he raised his daughter. He had even mentioned in 2021 that his daughter slept in the same room where he had spent his childhood.
This tragic loss is part of a broader pattern of destruction caused by wildfires in Los Angeles, leaving many residents dealing with the aftermath of these devastating events.
