Jack Quaid, the son of Hollywood stars Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, recently shared that his parents were initially hesitant about his decision to pursue acting. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on December 27, he revealed that while his parents ultimately supported his career choice, they were cautious due to their own tough experiences in the industry. “They weren’t initially super psyched about it because they knew how tough it was for them,” Jack explained.
Despite their concerns, Jack appreciated their eventual encouragement and emphasized that his love for acting came from a genuine passion, not just his parents’ fame. “If I did this just to be a famous person or to have clout, I would’ve been done with this a long time ago,” he said.
Jack also acknowledged the privilege of having parents who proved that a career in acting was possible. Reflecting on his upbringing, he noted how time spent on film sets with Ryan and Dennis shaped his love for the craft. His breakout role as Marvel in The Hunger Games in 2012 marked the beginning of his career, and he credits his unique experiences for nurturing his passion for storytelling.
