BEIJING: Iran is preparing for potential challenges ahead, including the possibility of the US reinstating Donald Trump’s “maximum pressure” policy. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, stated on Saturday that 2025 would be a pivotal year for the country’s nuclear issue. Araqchi, speaking in Beijing, emphasized the significance of this year while revealing he had discussed the matter with China’s foreign minister. His comments come after the US’s withdrawal in 2018 from the 2015 nuclear agreement, which was signed under former President Barack Obama. That deal had seen Iran agree to limit uranium enrichment in exchange for sanctions relief.
