Imran Khan Demands Clear Timeline for PTI’s Requests: Barrister Gohar

Barrister Gohar, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), shared that Imran Khan, the former prime minister, has called for a clear timeline to address the party’s demands during the negotiation process.

Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, Gohar said Khan has been updated about the start of talks. However, he emphasized that progress on PTI’s legitimate demands must happen within a set and agreed timeframe for timely results.

Gohar clarified that no international issues were discussed during their meeting. He also mentioned that foreign policy matters should be handled only by PTI’s chairman, secretary-general, and information secretary.

The talks focused only on the negotiation process, with no mention of a civil disobedience movement. Khan expressed concerns about some PTI representatives, including the K-P CM, not attending the latest session due to prior commitments, which had been communicated to the National Assembly Speaker in advance.

Despite these challenges, PTI plans to present a “Charter of Demands” in the next round of talks. Efforts are also being made to arrange a meeting between Khan and the PTI negotiation committee before formal discussions resume.

Gohar also stated that the cases against Khan are politically motivated. Khan has secured bail in most of these cases, except for one pending reference. He confirmed that all members of the PTI negotiation committee will attend the next session, set for January 2, where PTI will officially present its written demands to the government.

Gohar ended by expressing hope for a solution to the issues through constructive talks and reaffirmed PTI’s commitment to meaningful discussions.
