A delegation from the International Cricket Council (ICC) has arrived in Karachi to assess preparations for the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The team’s visit includes an inspection of the National Stadium, where they will review the progress of ongoing construction work, including a detailed evaluation of a new five-story building under development. The National Stadium is set to host the opening ceremony on February 19, followed by the first match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

In total, the stadium will hold three matches during the tournament.

Before the Champions Trophy kicks off, two matches of the Tri-Nation One Day International Series will take place. Pakistan will face South Africa on February 12, with the final scheduled for February 14.

Notably, the first ICC inspection was led by Security Head David Massker. This second visit saw Senior Manager of Event Operations Sarah Edgar and Manager Aun Zaidi overseeing arrangements, while a third inspection included Zaidi and Broadcasting Supervisor Mansoor Manj.

With the Champions Trophy rapidly approaching, the deadline for submitting preliminary squad lists is January 12. Teams have until February 11 to finalize their squads, after which no further changes can be made without ICC approval.

The tournament will officially begin on February 19 in Karachi, marking the start of a thrilling month of cricket. Teams are permitted to make changes to their preliminary squads up until February 11 without needing ICC approval.
