Govt-PTI Talks Reach Positive Conclusion in Second Round: NA Speaker

The second round of talks between the government and opposition, led by National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, concluded on a positive note, according to Express News.

In his opening remarks, Speaker Sadiq welcomed the attendees and highlighted that this was the second meeting of the committee, with some members missing the first session. He commended the cordial atmosphere of the initial talks and confirmed that the issues raised had been addressed.

Sadiq emphasized his role as a facilitator and expressed optimism for continued constructive dialogue. He pointed out that the committee would focus on key national issues, such as terrorism and the economy. He called on all parties to work together, stressing that resolving the country’s challenges was a collective responsibility.

The Speaker also stated that the committee would explore solutions for ongoing security and economic issues. As the session concluded, he mentioned that opposition members had raised demands, but further discussions with party leadership would be necessary before finalizing the charter of demands. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for next week.

Government spokesperson Senator Irfan Siddiqui noted that PTI representative Omar Ayub provided an extensive viewpoint during the session. He revealed that PTI had requested the release of Imran Khan and other party leaders, with plans to present a formal charter of demands in the next round of talks.
