Gold prices drop in international and local markets

Gold prices dropped in both global and local markets, as reported by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

  • Global Market: Gold per ounce fell by $8, now priced at $2,614.
  • Local Market: The price of 24-carat gold per tola decreased by Rs 800, reaching Rs 272,600. Gold per 10 grams dropped by Rs 685, now at Rs 233,711.

Silver prices remained stable at Rs 3,350 per tola and Rs 2,872.08 per 10 grams.

In other financial news, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a significant decline. After Monday’s record gain of 4,411 points, the KSE-100 Index dropped by 1,509 points, closing at 112,414 points. The drop was attributed to profit-taking, with moderate trading volume of 352.6 million shares.
