Francisco San Martin, ‘Days of Our Lives’ Actor, Passes Away at 39

 

Francisco San Martin, an actor famous for portraying Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives, tragically passed away on January 16 at the age of 39. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office confirmed his cause of death as suicide by hanging.

San Martin, born on August 27, 1985, in Mallorca, gained recognition for his role on Days of Our Lives, which he joined in 2011. His character, Dario Hernandez, was initially introduced as a petty thief but later became involved in a storyline investigating a cold case. After Dario left for Argentina, the role was recast with Jordi Vilasuso in 2016.

Beyond Days of Our Lives, San Martin’s acting career spanned other TV roles, including portraying Mateo, a groundskeeper on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2017, and a recurring character, Fabian Regalo del Cielo, on Jane the Virgin. He also appeared in various Spanish television, stage, and film projects.

Following his death, tributes have poured in from his colleagues. Days of Our Lives co-star Camila Banus, who played his sister Gabi, posted a touching tribute on Instagram, saying, “Pepe, what can I say but I love you and rest in peace, my friend.” San Martin’s contributions to television are fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
