Pakistan has nominated five TikTok influencers for the prestigious Travel Content Creator of the Year award. The nominees include Abrar Hassan, Zonir, Laiq Abbas, Zeenat Irfan, and Asif Ashoor.
For the first time, two creators from Gilgit-Baltistan have been recognized in this category. Asif Ashoor from Baltistan and Laiq Abbas from Gilgit have gained nominations for their outstanding contributions to travel content.
Both Asif and Laiq have captivated audiences with their breathtaking travel vlogs, highlighting Gilgit-Baltistan’s stunning landscapes and rich culture.
Asif Ashoor’s Reaction
Expressing his excitement over the nomination, Asif Ashoor called it a great honor and remained optimistic about winning through public votes.
“I am the only Pakistani content creator who films at extreme altitudes while climbing high peaks. My content showcases places most people haven’t seen before,” he shared.
Asif emphasized that his videos have introduced the world to the beauty and traditions of Gilgit-Baltistan, aiming to boost tourism in the region.
“I’ve always highlighted the positive aspects of my homeland. This nomination is tough because I am competing with some of Pakistan’s top TikTokers, but seeing my name on the list is already a victory,” he said, thanking TikTok Pakistan for the recognition.
Community Support & Voting Process
Tour guide Nazir Hussain from Gilgit-Baltistan praised the nominations of Asif Ashoor and Laiq Abbas, acknowledging their role in attracting global travel vloggers to the region.
“It is through their engaging videos that international travelers are drawn to visit Gilgit-Baltistan,” he said, expressing hope that one of them would take home the Travel Creator of the Year title.
Asif also explained the voting process, stating that the final decision would be based on user votes.
“Fans can vote for their favorite TikTokers through the platform’s voting feature. The creator with the highest number of votes will be declared the winner,” he clarified.
The TikTok Creator of the Year Awards is an annual event held in Lahore, where outstanding content creators are recognized across various categories.
