Fitness coach and motivational speaker Wes Watson was taken into custody by the Miami Police Department on February 6 at approximately 5:30 PM.
Watson is facing felony battery charges following an altercation that resulted in his arrest. Witnesses reported seeing officers escort Watson into a police vehicle, though it remains uncertain whether he will be granted bail at this time.
This recent arrest comes after a previous incident in late 2024 when Watson was involved in a widely publicized altercation at Elevation Fitness. A viral video allegedly showed him attacking another individual, with some reports claiming he used a weapon. Following that incident, Watson was initially detained on December 29, 2024, on misdemeanor assault and battery charges but was later released.
In response to the earlier controversy, Watson addressed the situation in an Instagram video, asserting that he acted in self-defense. He claimed that a larger individual aggressively confronted him at the gym, leading to a confrontation that escalated beyond his control. Watson insisted he had no intention of provoking violence.
A well-known figure in the fitness and motivational space, Watson is the founder of Watson Fit, an online fitness coaching brand. He was previously married to tattoo artist Valerie in 2019 before their divorce in 2022. He is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend, Angie.
