Fans Express Outrage as Sony TV Confirms ACP Pradyuman’s Death in CID

The confirmation of ACP Pradyuman’s death in the popular Indian TV series CID has caused a massive stir among fans, with many expressing outrage on social media. The character, played by Shivaji Satam since 1998, was killed off in a recent episode. Sony TV made the announcement official with a post on Saturday, marking the end of an iconic era in Indian television.

In the episode, ACP Pradyuman’s death occurred during an explosion in a dramatic face-off with criminal Barboza, portrayed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. While the death was not explicitly shown, the post confirmed the character’s end, leaving fans devastated. The post included an image of ACP Pradyuman with the message: “In loving memory of ACP Pradyuman… A loss that will never be forgotten” and “End of an era. ACP Pradyuman (1998-2025).”

Fans flooded social media with emotional tributes, with many criticizing the move. One fan stated, “It’s not RIP to ACP Pradyuman. It’s RIP to CID. And RIP to Sony TV. With this heartless move, you didn’t just end a character, you buried a legacy.” ACP Pradyuman, known for his leadership, intelligence, and the iconic catchphrase “Kuch to gadbad hai,” has been a key figure in CID for over two decades, making it one of India’s longest-running and most beloved crime dramas.

Though many fans mourned the loss, others speculated that ACP Pradyuman might return, as the death scene was ambiguous. Some insisted, “ACP Pradyuman is alive and will return.”

Shivaji Satam, who has played ACP Pradyuman for 27 years, commented on the news, saying he was unaware of the character’s death. He told Bombay Times that he was on a break and hadn’t been informed about his character’s future. “If my track is over, I’m okay with it, but I haven’t been told anything yet,” he added.

Despite the outcry, some fans continue to hope that ACP Pradyuman may make a return.
