The European Union (EU) Delegation to Pakistan has issued a warning about a scam targeting Pakistani citizens, where criminal organizations are spreading false information about visa and consular appointments. These scammers have created fake embassy listings and phone numbers on Google Maps, misleading individuals seeking visa services.
In a statement on X, the EU delegation confirmed multiple fraudulent listings for EU embassies in Islamabad, which provided incorrect details about visa services and consular appointments. The EU emphasized that this scam is a serious issue and urged citizens to rely only on official embassy websites for accurate information.
The EU clarified that visa and passport services are not handled by the EU delegation in Pakistan, but rather by the embassies and consulates of individual EU member states. It advised Pakistani citizens to directly contact the relevant embassy or consulate for correct visa details and warned against using unauthorized directories or Google Maps listings.
