A Philadelphia Eagles fan at the center of a viral incident during Sunday’s playoff game has lost his job.
Ryan Caldwell, a project manager at the consulting firm BCT Partners, was filmed verbally attacking a female Green Bay Packers fan during the Eagles’ 22-10 victory in the Wild Card round. The video captured Caldwell directing offensive and misogynistic language toward the woman, including calling her an “ugly dumb c*nt.”
The incident, shared widely online, sparked outrage. One social media user, believed to be connected to the victim, wrote:
“What it’s like going to Philly just trying to root for your team… Unprovoked, uncalled for. Packers Twitter, help me out and find this guy… this is not okay. I hate that my fiancé had this happen simply cheering for her team.”
BCT Partners, a firm specializing in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), announced Caldwell’s termination on Tuesday after conducting an internal investigation. The company strongly condemned his behavior, labeling it “vile, disgusting, unacceptable, and horrific,” and emphasized that such actions are completely inconsistent with their values.
While expressing sympathy for the challenges Caldwell may face, the firm made it clear that his actions did not reflect their principles and acted swiftly to remove him from his position.
