A viral image circulating on social media claims that The Simpsons predicted Pakistan’s victory in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. However, fact-checkers have debunked the claim, confirming that the image is AI-generated and not an actual scene from the iconic animated series.
Over the years, The Simpsons has gained fame for seemingly predicting major world events, such as Donald Trump’s presidency, Kamala Harris’ election loss, the California wildfires, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of these forecasts, made long before they occurred, have been surprisingly accurate.
With the Champions Trophy scheduled to begin on February 19, fans have been sharing the fabricated image, suggesting that The Simpsons foresaw Pakistan’s victory. The national team, both host and defending champion, will open the tournament against New Zealand at Karachi’s National Stadium.
Despite the widespread speculation, online users and fact-checkers have dismissed the claim, pointing out that the image is a digitally created hoax.
“This is just AI manipulation,” one user noted, while another joked, “Given Pakistan’s current squad, this might be the first time The Simpsons gets a prediction wrong.”
Pakistan’s last Champions Trophy win came in 2017 under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s leadership, when they secured a stunning 180-run victory over India in the final at The Oval. The highly anticipated Pakistan-India clash in the 2025 tournament is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
