Deborra-Lee Furness has shared her plans for a significant career shift following her separation from Hugh Jackman. In an interview with Herald Sun at the Australian Open on January 25, the Beautiful actress expressed her desire to make a permanent move to Australia, calling Melbourne “home.”
Furness, who announced her unexpected split from Jackman in 2023, revealed that she has received several movie offers in Australia and is currently reviewing scripts. She also mentioned working on projects in New York, noting, “I’m in my chapter three,” and that she enjoys staying creative in various fields. The 69-year-old actress hinted at more travel in the future.
She also discussed her children’s love for Australia, mentioning, “We do one Christmas in New York and one Christmas here,” and how much they enjoy the simple lifestyle, food, and culture in Melbourne. Furness fondly recalled her roots, saying, “Every time I go out, Ava asks, ‘Is there anyone you don’t know in Melbourne?’”
Her comments came just days after Hugh Jackman was seen sharing a kiss with his current partner, Sutton Foster, marking their first public display of affection since news of their relationship broke.
