Cricket Legends Applaud Pakistan as Host for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
As the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 approaches, starting on February 19, cricketing icons Ian Bishop, JP Duminy, and Tim Southee have praised Pakistan’s role as the host nation. Their comments highlight Pakistan’s longstanding passion for the sport and its return to hosting major international tournaments after almost three decades.
This marks Pakistan’s first ICC event since the 1996 tournament, and the country has received recognition for its efforts in preparing for the prestigious competition.

JP Duminy of South Africa also shared his excitement, highlighting the overwhelming support for cricket in Pakistan. “The energy here is incredible,” he said, emphasizing that the country’s love for the game makes it an ideal venue for a tournament of this scale.
