Actress Courtney Ford has initiated divorce proceedings from her husband, actor Brandon Routh, following 17 years of marriage.
Court documents acquired by TMZ reveal that Ford cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for the divorce, though no specific date of separation was mentioned.
The couple, who share a 12-year-old son named Leo, are requesting joint legal and physical custody. Ford has also asked for spousal support while seeking to prevent Routh from receiving any.
The pair married in 2007 at El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, after dating for three years and becoming engaged in 2006. Routh is best known for his role as Superman in Superman Returns, while Ford has had notable roles in shows like True Blood, Parenthood, and Supernatural.
