Chris Martin, lead singer of Coldplay, recently shared a mental health practice that he believes can help those dealing with negative emotions. In an interview on Loose Women Talkathon, the 47-year-old singer emphasized the importance of addressing emotions in a healthy way.
Martin suggested a simple 12-minute exercise where individuals write down everything that’s bothering them on a piece of paper. He explained that this act of writing can help clarify thoughts and emotions, providing a sense of release. Once the 12 minutes are up, the paper should be discarded—ripped up, burned, or thrown away.
“This practice is really helpful for mental health,” said Martin. “Instead of angrily texting someone or reacting aggressively, this method allows you to clear your mind, and if something remains after those 12 minutes, you can approach it calmly.”
The singer revealed that he himself follows this technique, finding it effective in managing his own emotions and finding clarity during challenging times.
