Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser Announce Engagement
Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser, known for their roles in Cobra Kai, are officially engaged.
The couple, who brought their on-screen chemistry to real life, confirmed the news after sparking speculation at a Cobra Kai series finale event on February 12. Their coordinated rings caught fans’ attention, and the following day, they made their engagement public on Instagram by sharing heartfelt photos from the occasion.
“We’re thrilled to finally share that we’re engaged,” Buchanan captioned their joint post. “This marks a special milestone in our lives—closing one chapter and embracing the next.”
The 26-year-old actor added, “Though we cherish our privacy, we’re deeply grateful for all the love and support. We wanted to take a moment to share this exciting update with everyone.”
Mouser, 28, portrays Sam LaRusso in the Netflix series, the daughter of karate champion Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio), while Buchanan plays Robby Keene, the estranged son of Johnny Lawrence (played by William Zabka).
Jon Hurwitz, co-creator of Cobra Kai, reacted to the engagement with excitement, even joking about the unexpected matchmaking role the show played in their relationship.
“We’re matchmakers first, showrunners second,” Hurwitz wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Our main goal with Cobra Kai was to bring Daniel LaRusso’s daughter and Johnny Lawrence’s son together in real life. Mission accomplished! So happy for them—a perfect couple!”
Buchanan and Mouser, who have been part of the Cobra Kai cast since its debut in 2018, have kept their relationship mostly private. However, their engagement now brings their love story into the spotlight.
