Champions Trophy Returns to Pakistan After Global Tour Ends

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 silverware made its return to Pakistan on Thursday after completing its world tour. The trophy visited all eight participating nations ahead of the tournament, which is set to begin on February 19.

It will now embark on a second tour across Pakistan, where it will be displayed in key cities such as Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Sheikhupura until February 15. The trophy will also be showcased at the opening ceremonies of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and Karachi’s National Stadium on February 7 and 11, respectively.

The trophy had previously visited several cities in Pakistan last November, including Karachi, Islamabad, Murree, Nithia Gali, Taxila, and Abbottabad, although Lahore was not part of the tour.

The highly anticipated eight-team tournament, featuring 15 matches, will be held from February 19 to March 9 across three venues—Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, as well as Dubai.

The eight teams are divided into two groups: Group A includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B features Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia. Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match on February 19 in Karachi, while the much-anticipated Pakistan vs. India match is set for February 23 in Dubai.

Pakistan will host a total of 10 matches, while Dubai will host four matches, including all three of India’s group-stage games and the first semi-final. The final is scheduled to take place in Lahore, with a reserve day set in case of weather disruptions. If India qualifies for the final, however, it will be held in Dubai.
