The FBI has not yet found any clear connection between the New Year’s Day truck attack in New Orleans, which claimed 15 lives, and a recent explosion involving a Tesla Cybertruck in Las Vegas. The blast, which occurred outside the Trump International Hotel, resulted in the death of the driver and left seven others with minor injuries.
The driver of the Cybertruck was identified as Matthew Livelsberger, an active-duty US Army soldier, by law enforcement sources. He had a history of military service, having been active from January 2006 to March 2011, later serving in the National Guard and Army Reserve, and re-entering active duty in December 2012 as a Special Operations Soldier. The Army declined to comment on the ongoing investigation.
Livelsberger, who had no apparent criminal record, had ties to Colorado Springs since 2013, and the Cybertruck was reportedly rented from that area. Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
