Netflix Unveils New K-Drama ‘Boyfriend on Demand’ Starring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Seo In-guk

Netflix has officially introduced its latest Korean romantic comedy, Boyfriend on Demand (working title), featuring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and renowned actor Seo In-guk in leading roles.

The drama revolves around an overburdened webtoon producer who stumbles upon an unconventional romance through a cutting-edge virtual reality dating service.

Jisoo takes on the role of Seo Mi-rae, a hardworking webtoon creator whose romantic life takes a surprising turn when she acquires a “Monthly Boyfriend” device, granting her access to seemingly flawless virtual partners. Seo In-guk portrays Park Kyeong-nam, a fellow webtoon producer known for his aloof personality, yet harboring deep emotions beneath his cold exterior. Their workplace rivalry sets the stage for an engaging and emotionally charged storyline.

The series is helmed by director Kim Jung-sik, celebrated for his work on Work Later, Drink Now and No Gain No Love, promising a compelling blend of futuristic themes and heartfelt romance.

Netflix continues to strengthen its lineup of Korean dramas, with Boyfriend on Demand joining its expanding collection of romantic series. The announcement follows Jisoo’s successful acting stint in Snowdrop on Disney+ and JTBC, as well as her role in the upcoming Prime Video zombie thriller Newtopia. Meanwhile, she recently signed a global deal with Warner Records and launched her debut solo mini-album, Amortage, on February 14.
