BJP Minister Nitesh Rane recently cast doubt on the authenticity of the recent knife attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, calling the actor “garbage.” Khan, 54, was allegedly stabbed six times in a suspected burglary attempt at his Mumbai home. He was hospitalized but discharged days later, appearing in public with little apparent distress.
Speaking at a public event in Pune, Rane questioned whether the attack was real or staged, noting the presence of Bangladeshis in Mumbai and insinuating that they may have been involved in the attack. He also mocked Khan’s discharge, claiming he appeared to be “dancing” as he walked out of the hospital, casting further doubt on the severity of his injuries.
Rane also took the opportunity to criticize leaders from the Nationalist Congress Party, accusing them of focusing too much on the well-being of Khan and other actors named “Khan,” while ignoring the plight of Hindu artists. He specifically referenced the case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who died under controversial circumstances, suggesting a lack of concern for Hindu performers.
In addition, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam questioned the details of Khan’s recovery, particularly how he could look so well just days after undergoing six hours of surgery. Nirupam called on Khan’s family to provide more information about the attack.
