BCCI Announces Indian Jerseys to Display Official ICC Logo with Pakistan’s Mark

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed on Wednesday that it will adhere to the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) guidelines for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which includes the official tournament logo featuring Pakistan’s name on the Indian team’s jerseys.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia clarified in an interview that the Indian team will comply with ICC directives, which require all teams to feature the official logo with the host nation’s imprint.

Earlier reports in Indian media suggested that the BCCI had refused to wear jerseys displaying Pakistan’s name, sparking a strong reaction from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB criticized the BCCI for mixing politics with sports, emphasizing that such actions were detrimental to the game. The PCB also expressed confidence that the ICC would support the host nation.

The ICC later confirmed that displaying the tournament’s official logo, which includes the host nation’s name, is mandatory for all teams.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will be held from February 19 to March 9 across three venues in Pakistan—Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi—and in Dubai. Pakistan will face New Zealand in the opening match on February 19, while the highly anticipated Pakistan vs. India clash is set for February 23 in Dubai.

As of now, Pakistan is the only team yet to officially announce its squad for the tournament.
