Babar Azam Rises to 6th Spot in ICC T20I Batter Rankings

The latest updates to the ICC Men’s Player Rankings have brought notable changes, with Pakistan’s Babar Azam rising one spot to secure the 6th position in the T20I batter rankings, strengthening his place among the elite in the format.

In a remarkable achievement, West Indies spinner Akeal Hosein has ascended to the top of the T20I bowler rankings for the first time in his career, following an impressive 2/13 performance against Bangladesh. This performance enabled him to surpass Adil Rashid, who now holds the second spot.

The battle for the No. 1 position in Test batting is also intensifying, with England’s Joe Root regaining the top spot after scoring 32 and 54 against New Zealand. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson is closing the gap on Root with an exceptional 156 in Hamilton.

Additionally, West Indies players Rovman Powell and Johnson Charles have made significant gains in the T20I batter rankings, thanks to their strong performances against Bangladesh.
