Israeli Airstrikes Kill 14 in Gaza Amid Renewed Offensive

Gaza’s civil defense reported on Tuesday that at least 14 people were killed overnight in Israeli airstrikes on the conflict-ravaged Palestinian territory, marking a week since Israel resumed its military operations.

According to spokesperson Mahmud Bassal, Israeli aircraft conducted over 20 airstrikes across Gaza, with casualties including women and children. In a dawn attack on Gaza City’s Zeitun neighborhood, five people were killed and 12 others injured. Meanwhile, in the southern city of Khan Yunis, nine individuals lost their lives, including a couple and their three children.

The Israeli military confirmed conducting overnight strikes, describing them as part of ongoing “anti-terrorist” operations.

Israel escalated its air and ground assaults last week after ceasefire negotiations with Hamas reached a deadlock. The Gaza Health Ministry, under Hamas administration, reported that 730 people had been killed since Israel resumed its attacks on March 18.

On Monday evening, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee issued warnings to civilians ahead of a planned strike in Jabalia, a northern Gaza area. “Terrorist organizations have resumed launching rockets from populated areas. For your safety, evacuate south toward designated shelters immediately,” he stated on social media platform X. Similar alerts were issued for Beit Lahia and Beit Hanun.

Bassal further noted that artillery shelling had been reported in Beit Hanun, Beit Lahia, and Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced it had intercepted three projectiles launched from Gaza on Monday night.
