Ashley Tisdale Steps Away from Social Media Amid Criticism

Actress Ashley Tisdale has announced a break from social media, revealing that she has been intentionally limiting her online presence in recent weeks.

The High School Musical star shared her decision through an Instagram Stories post on February 7, explaining that the increasing negativity on social platforms has made her hesitant to engage.

“As the world gets louder, I find myself wanting to share less and less,” Tisdale wrote. “Maybe it’s because I don’t feel I can contribute in a positive way when everything feels so negative.”

Balancing her career and motherhood, Tisdale, who shares two daughters—Jupiter, 3, and Emerson, 5 months—with husband Christopher French, emphasized that stepping away from social media has allowed her to be more present in her daily life.

“I’ve really enjoyed putting my phone down and being in the moment,” the 39-year-old actress added. “Social media is an amazing tool for connection, but it can also become overwhelming when filled with judgment and assumptions.”

Though she is cutting back on posting, Tisdale still shares occasional glimpses of her family life.

In a lighthearted moment, she recalled during the Breaking Beauty podcast that her daughter, Jupiter, once mistook Zac Efron for her father while watching High School Musical.

“She saw the movie about a year ago when my husband showed her, and she thought Zac Efron was her dad,” Tisdale said with a laugh. “She was like, ‘Daddy!’ And I had to say, ‘No, no, no. Just because they both have dark hair doesn’t mean he’s your dad.’”

While she remains offline more frequently, Tisdale continues to prioritize her family and mental well-being, embracing a more mindful approach to social media.
