Ariana Grande recently attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 9, where she shared insights about Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated sequel to Wicked: Part One.
Speaking with Dave Karger, the 31-year-old singer and actress revealed that while the first film revolves around choices, the second installment delves into their consequences.
“It’s incredibly special and deeply emotional,” Grande explained. “The sequel truly embodies themes of unconditional love, forgiveness, and friendship. It’s quite different from the first movie, but you’ll have to wait and see.”
She elaborated on how For Good will explore the aftermath of the characters’ decisions. “You’ll witness how the characters face the repercussions of the choices they made in the first film,” she added. “If Part One was about making choices, then Part Two is about living with them.”
Wicked: Part One concluded with the iconic Defying Gravity, as Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba and Grande’s Glinda went their separate ways. For Good will continue from where the Broadway show’s second act begins, bringing their story to a dramatic and emotional resolution.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer—Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters on November 21.
