Five Charged in Liam Payne’s Death in Argentina

Argentine authorities have formally charged five individuals in connection with the tragic death of singer Liam Payne. The charges, as reported by the prominent newspaper Infobae, range from negligent homicide to narcotics distribution.

One of the accused, Roger Nores, a friend of Payne, admitted to leaving him at the CasaSur Palermo hotel just an hour before his fatal fall. Nores has been charged with negligent homicide and barred from leaving Argentina. His custody status remains unclear.

Two others, waiter Braian Paiz and hotel employee Ezequiel Pereyra, face charges of supplying narcotics after allegedly admitting to providing Payne with cocaine. Hotel managers Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi have been charged with manslaughter for their roles in the incident.

These charges were expected following a judge’s earlier approval of the prosecution’s case against Nores for abandonment.

Payne’s death, which followed a day of heavy drinking and drug use, sent shockwaves through the music industry and triggered a comprehensive investigation in Argentina.
