Andrew Garfield drops ‘unbelievable’ hints about Spider-Man 4, says ‘I’m going to disappoint you’

Andrew Garfield recently addressed rumors surrounding his return as Spider-Man in Spider-Man 4, following his appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The actor, known for his portrayal of Peter Parker in The Amazing Spider-Man series, confirmed that he has no plans to reprise the role anytime soon.

In an interview with GQ, Garfield responded to speculation about his involvement in the upcoming Tom Holland-led Spider-Man film. He stated, “I’m gonna disappoint you,” adding, “Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on,” referencing his earlier denials about appearing in No Way Home, only for fans to see him share the screen with Tobey Maguire and Holland in the 2021 multiverse film.

Despite his current disinterest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Garfield teased that he could be swayed under the right circumstances. “If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun,” he said. He also joked about the possibility of a return if his financial responsibilities changed, stating, “Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition.”

Garfield previously mentioned in an October interview that only “a great idea” and “something that is surprising and odd and fun” would convince him to reprise the role. “It has to be worthwhile,” he added.
