MUZAFFARABAD:Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq on Friday strongly condemned the killing of two Kashmiri youths by Indian occupation forces in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Expressing deep concern over the escalating state-sponsored violence, he highlighted the alarming increase in custodial deaths and staged encounters in the region. “The excessive use of force by the Indian Army reflects their growing frustration,” he remarked. “Following the massive display of solidarity by Pakistanis on Kashmir Solidarity Day, Indian authorities have intensified raids, arrests, and crackdowns in IIOJK.”
He further accused Indian forces of grave human rights violations, stating that inhumane torture tactics during interrogations have led to numerous deaths of innocent civilians, particularly young boys. He emphasized that arbitrary detentions are being used to suppress political dissent and silence voices opposing India’s illegal occupation.
Calling on the international community to take immediate action, the AJK premier stressed the urgency of resolving the Kashmir dispute, which remains a source of unrest and human rights abuses. “The world must step forward to address this long-standing issue and ensure justice for the oppressed people of IIOJK,” he urged.
Reaffirming the unwavering spirit of the Kashmiri people, he vowed that their struggle for freedom would continue until they achieve their rightful self-determination.
His remarks came in response to the recent killing of Waseem Ahmed Mir, a Kashmiri truck driver, who was shot dead by Indian troops in Baramulla’s Sangrama Chowk on Wednesday night. Additionally, another youth, Makhan Din, was arrested in Jammu under accusations of supporting pro-freedom activists and later died due to custodial torture.
Meanwhile, former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan praised the statement made by Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir regarding IIOJK. He noted that the army chief’s remarks, delivered in AJK on Kashmir Solidarity Day, had reignited hope among Kashmiris. “This statement has not only lifted the spirits of people in IIOJK but has also strengthened the resolve of Pakistanis and Kashmiris to continue their struggle for freedom,” he stated.
