SBP Declares Jan 1, 2025, a Bank Holiday
KARACHI β The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that Wednesday, January 1, 2025, will be observed as a “Bank Holiday.” On this day, all banks, development finance institutions, and microfinance banks will remain closed for public transactions.
However, employees of these institutions will report to work as usual despite the suspension of public dealings, according to an SBP spokesperson.
Earlier, on December 23, the federal government released the schedule for public and optional holidays in 2025.
As per the Cabinet Division’s notification, Pakistan will observe 11 public holidays in the upcoming year. The first will be on February 5 for Kashmir Day, followed by March 23 to commemorate Pakistan Day.
