Pakistan to Face Bangladesh in Five-Match T20I Series
LAHORE: The Pakistan cricket team is all set to play a five-match T20I series against Bangladesh as part of the Future Tour Programme (FTP), which initially included three ODIs and three T20Is. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed the change in a statement on Wednesday.
Originally, the series was slated to feature three T20Is, but in light of next year’s T20 World Cup, both cricket boards have mutually decided to replace the ODIs with two additional T20I matches.
The five-match T20I series will take place in Faisalabad and Lahore from May 25 to June 3.
Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, which hosted the inaugural Champions One-Day Cup in September 2024 and the National T20 Cup last month, will be the venue for the first two T20Is. These matches are scheduled for May 25 and May 27.
This stadium, which has hosted 24 Tests and 16 ODIs between 1978 and 2008, will mark the return of international cricket after a 17-year hiatus. The last international match here was an ODI between Bangladesh and Pakistan in April 2008.
The remaining three T20Is will be held at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, scheduled for May 30, June 1, and June 3. All matches will begin at 8 PM local time.
The Bangladesh team will arrive in Pakistan on May 21 and will start their training sessions at Iqbal Stadium from May 24 to May 24.
