Israeli Strikes Kill 56 More in Gaza, Pushing Death Toll Past 51,000
Israeli air raids on Gaza have killed at least 56 more Palestinians, raising the total number of deaths since the war began in October 2023 to 51,495, according to a statement from Gaza’s Health Ministry on Saturday.
The ministry also reported that 108 new casualties were rushed to hospitals over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of injured individuals to 117,524 amid the ongoing Israeli assault.
“Numerous victims remain trapped beneath the rubble and along the streets, as rescue teams are unable to reach them,” the statement added.
Despite a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement established in January, Israel launched a surprise aerial offensive on Gaza on March 18, killing 2,111 people and injuring 5,483 more.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Gaza conflict.
Additionally, Israel is currently facing genocide charges at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its actions in Gaza.
