Munro, Rizwan Fined for Code of Conduct Violation During PSL Clash
Colin Munro of Islamabad United and Mohammad Rizwan, captain of Multan Sultans, have been fined for breaching the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Code of Conduct following a tense moment in Match 10 of the tournament.
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), both players committed a Level 2 offence under the PSL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. Each has been fined 30 percent of their match fee.
The incident occurred during the 10th over of Islamabad United’s chase when Munro made a gesture toward Multan Sultans’ bowler Iftikhar Ahmed. The act led to a verbal confrontation, prompting Rizwan to step in and respond, escalating the situation.
The two were found to have violated Article 2.13, which pertains to “personal abuse of a player, support personnel, umpire, or match referee during a game.”
Match referee Ali Naqvi imposed the fines after both Munro and Rizwan accepted responsibility and agreed to the sanctions without dispute. On-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Chris Brown initially reported the violation.
In a statement, the PCB reaffirmed its commitment to preserving sportsmanship and discipline throughout the HBL PSL season.
