Legendary Actor Manoj Kumar Dies at 87, Marking the End of an Era

Manoj Kumar, the iconic actor and filmmaker celebrated for his portrayal of patriotic roles, has passed away at 87, leaving behind a profound legacy in Indian cinema. Known as Indiaโ€™s “Bharat Kumar,” his career was marked by powerful performances in films like Shaheed (1965), Upkar (1967), and Purab Aur Paschim (1970), which continue to inspire audiences.

Kumar passed away at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital due to heart complications and liver failure. His contribution to Bollywood was recognized with the Padma Shri in 1992 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2015.

Apart from his celebrated patriotic roles, Manoj Kumar appeared in a wide array of memorable films including Hariyali Aur Raasta, Woh Kaun Thi, Himalaya Ki God Mein, Do Badan, Patthar Ke Sanam, Neel Kamal, and Kranti. His legacy remains deeply ingrained in Indian cinema history.
