PM Shehbaz Orders Independent Audit of Ramadan Relief Package to Ensure Transparency

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has mandated a third-party audit of the Prime Minister Ramadan Relief Package 2025 to guarantee transparent distribution of funds, as announced by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The directive was issued during a high-level review meeting chaired by the premier, where officials presented progress updates on the relief initiative. According to the briefing, 63% of eligible beneficiaries have already received financial aid, with complete documentation maintained for all disbursements.

To ensure effective implementation, 2,224 government employees have been deployed across the country. Additionally, over 1.5 million potential beneficiaries have been contacted through phone calls to streamline the assistance process.

Emphasizing nationwide inclusivity, PM Shehbaz confirmed that the program covers all regions of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, without any discrimination.

The premier commended the State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA, and technology partners for developing a secure digital wallet system to facilitate fund distribution. He instructed authorities to replicate this model for other social welfare schemes.

PM Shehbaz also directed telecommunications companies and banks to intensify public awareness campaigns about the relief package and submit detailed reports on their outreach efforts.

The meeting was attended by key officials including Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain (National Food Security), Ahsan Iqbal (Economic Affairs), Atta Tarar (Information), and Shaza Fatima (IT), alongside representatives from NADRA, PTA, and private sector collaborators involved in the program.
