Tina Fey recently shared her candid thoughts on wealthy celebrities pursuing side hustles during an appearance on the *Good Hang With Amy Poehler* podcast on March 18. The *Mean Girls* star admitted she would never engage in a side hustle like some of her fellow celebrities, expressing her disapproval of the trend.
“I have a problem with rich people having a side hustle,” the 54-year-old comedian told Amy Poehler. “If you already have like $200 million… I judge it,” she added.
Amy, however, encouraged Tina to reconsider her stance, suggesting she take inspiration from Gen Z and avoid being so critical. “You need to learn from Gen Z and not judge it,” Amy said.
During their conversation, Amy also complimented Tina’s appearance, praising her “incredible hair” and suggesting she launch a hair campaign. She even pushed Tina to consider starting a glasses line, given her iconic look. “I feel like you should have a hair campaign,” Amy remarked. “[I’m] always pushing you to have a glasses line. Why do you not have a glasses line?”
Jokingly, Amy added, “You hate money?” to which Tina responded, “I do kind of hate money.” Despite this, Tina clarified that she isn’t irresponsible with her finances. “I’m not terrible with money and don’t waste money,” she explained. “I don’t get excited about money.”
Tina also shared that while she doesn’t have a passion for accumulating wealth, she values financial security. “I need money to feel safe and live,” she said.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been close friends for over three decades and have collaborated on numerous projects, including *Saturday Night Live* in the early 2000s, the 2015 comedy *Sisters*, and co-hosting the 2021 Golden Globes. Their playful banter and enduring friendship continue to entertain fans worldwide.
