Trump Faces Criticism for Babysitting Elon Musk’s Son X at White House

A recent video of former US President Donald Trump helping Elon Musk’s four-year-old son, X, board Marine One has gone viral, eliciting a mix of amusement and criticism online. Many users humorously referred to Trump as the child’s “babysitter” in response to the clip.

The widely circulated footage shows the toddler energetically walking alongside Trump on the White House lawn. As Musk trails behind, Trump is seen assisting X onto the presidential helicopter. Musk later shared a photo of the moment on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, “That’s a happy picture.”

While some found the interaction heartwarming, others questioned its appropriateness. “Lord Elon turned a US president into a babysitter,” one user joked, while another commented, “A car salesman has turned the President of the United States into a babysitter. America is not a real place, man.”

The frequent presence of Musk’s son in the White House has also drawn scrutiny, with some speculating how often the child accompanies his father. “Does this child live at the White House now?” one observer asked. Even some Trump supporters expressed unease. “I love Trump, and little X is cute as a bug, but this is like the third time this week Trump seems to be babysitting,” one person noted.

Concerns about X’s appearances were previously raised when he was seen in the Oval Office during the signing of an executive order on federal job cuts. His mother, musician Grimes, expressed surprise at the incident, writing on X, “He should not be in public like this… Thank you for alerting me.”

The viral moment has not only entertained social media users but also sparked discussions about the blending of personal relationships and presidential duties, raising questions about White House protocols and boundaries.
