Sterling K. Brown, the acclaimed actor known for his roles in *This Is Us* and *The People v. O.J. Simpson*, recently shared a humorous and eyebrow-raising story about his wife, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe, and her celebrity crush.
During an appearance on *Sherri*, Brown recounted how he discovered his wife’s admiration for actor Boris Kodjoe early in their marriage. “When we first got married, I asked her, ‘Who is your celebrity crush?’ She immediately said, ‘Boris,’ without any hesitation,” Brown told host Sherri Shepherd.
To his surprise, just two months later, Bathe was cast as Kodjoe’s wife in the movie *All About Us*. “Sherri, within two months, she was playing Boris’ wife in a movie,” Brown added with a laugh.
The story took an even more amusing turn when Brown, who was filming *Supernatural* in Canada at the time, called Bathe to check in on her day on set. Little did he know, he was about to receive an unexpected update.
“She said, ‘Listen, they added a sex scene into the script,'” Brown recalled. He humorously noted that he had to censor his language for daytime TV, saying, “I’ve been told I can’t use the t-word on daytime television, so I’m gonna say, ‘Oh, so you gotta have naked breasts on his chest?’ And she’s like, ‘No, I’m gonna use the Band-Aids.'”
However, Bathe later informed him that her plan to keep things modest on set didn’t quite work out.
The couple, who share two children, took the situation in stride, showcasing their lighthearted approach to life in the spotlight. Brown’s anecdote provided a glimpse into their playful and supportive relationship, much to the delight of the audience.
