Curry’s Brilliance Leads Warriors to Victory Over Magic
Stephen Curry put on a spectacular performance Thursday night, scoring 56 points and draining 12 three-pointers to propel the Golden State Warriors to a 121-115 win over the Orlando Magic.
Curry’s Unstoppable Shooting Display
Curry, who had not scored more than 38 points in a game this season, was on fire from the field. He shot 16-of-25 overall and was especially lethal from long range, hitting 12-of-19 three-pointers. Additionally, he was flawless from the free-throw line, converting all 12 attempts.
This marked the third time in his career that Curry has made 12 threes in a game. He initially tied the previous record in February 2016 before surpassing it with 13 later that year. However, his former teammate Klay Thompson set a new benchmark in 2018 with 14 three-pointers, a record that still stands.
Despite not reclaiming the record, Curry remains the greatest shooter in NBA history. As noted by The Athletic, he has recorded 45 games with at least nine three-pointers—significantly more than Damian Lillard, who ranks second with 14 such games.
Third-Quarter Domination
Curry completely took over in the third quarter, outscoring the Magic by himself with 22 points compared to Orlando’s 21. He also capped off the first half in signature fashion, drilling a deep shot from beyond half-court.
