PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar welcomed the formation of the government’s negotiation committee and expressed hope for a quick resolution of all issues.
He called the government’s move a positive step and emphasized the need for meaningful talks. Gohar expressed confidence that both committees, made up of serious members, would make progress and find solutions soon.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed the government’s committee, including Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, and others, on the recommendation of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The PTI committee includes Umar Ayub, Asad Qaiser, and Salman Akram Raja, among others.
PTI has also issued an ultimatum to the PML-N-led government, warning of a civil disobedience movement if talks don’t begin by Sunday. While the jailed PTI founding chairman urged party leaders to prepare for action, Barrister Gohar remains hopeful about negotiations.
Sources revealed that Gohar contacted the NA Speaker, asking him to facilitate talks. The Speaker assured him he would approach the Prime Minister about forming a committee but didn’t give a firm commitment.
