Billie Eilish Refuses to Alter Her ‘Traditional Style’ for Anyone While Recording Music

Billie Eilish revealed that she remains committed to her unique music-making process, refusing to alter it for any collaborator. The 23-year-old singer has long preferred to write and record her music either at home or in the studio with her brother Finneas.

Even when working with Charli XCX on their track “Guess,” Billie stuck to her familiar routine, despite their successful collaboration, which topped the charts in both the UK and Australia. In an interview with Complex, she shared, “Finneas and I just sat in the studio and wrote that. It was my dream. My dream collab, aside from whatever Rihanna wants, is not having to have any contact with anybody.”

Billie further explained that although she’s open to working with big-name artists, she prefers to maintain her solitary approach. “Even if it’s somebody I’m super close to, I’d be like, ‘Cool, you go home. I’ll make something alone. You make something alone. Then we’ll send it and then work on it separately,’” she added.

Currently, Billie Eilish has been nominated for a Grammy, continuing to carve her own path in the music industry.
