Grimes Raises Concern Over Elon Musk Bringing Son to White House

Singer Grimes has expressed concern after her former partner, Elon Musk, brought their 4-year-old son, X Æ A-XII, to a press event at the White House.

On Tuesday, Musk arrived at the Oval Office with their son, commonly known as X, to meet with President Donald Trump. The visit coincided with the signing of an executive order expanding the authority of Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.

During the event, young X drew attention by making playful gestures and sitting on his father’s shoulders while Musk addressed the media.

While the moment sparked a mix of reactions online, Grimes voiced her unease about their son being in the public eye. After a fan notified her of X’s appearance, she responded on Musk’s social media platform, X, stating:

“He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me.”

In a follow-up post, she added:

“But I’m glad he was polite. Sigh.”

Her response came after a user commented that the child behaved “very politely” during the event.

Musk, 53, and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, began their relationship in May 2018 and welcomed X in 2020. The couple maintained a relatively private relationship and later expanded their family with the birth of their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, known as Y, via surrogate in December 2021. However, they only publicly revealed her birth in March 2022.

In June 2022, they had a third child, Techno Mechanicus, nicknamed Tau, though the news remained undisclosed until September 2023.

By the end of 2022, Musk and Grimes had officially parted ways and have since been involved in an ongoing custody battle.
