Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane’s 2016 Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam has been re-released, achieving remarkable success by surpassing its original opening-day record.
On its first day back in theaters, the film sold 88,000 tickets, outperforming its initial release.
Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, Sanam Teri Kasam stars Mawra Hocane alongside Harshvardhan Rane. Since its re-release on Friday, the film has been performing strongly at the box office, backed by impressive advance bookings.
As reported by Indian entertainment website Koimoi, the movie secured pre-release ticket sales worth 1.55 crore INR, exceeding its 2016 opening-day earnings of 1 crore INR.
The total presale on BookMyShow (BMS) reached 111,000 tickets, marking a 168% increase compared to the advance bookings for the 2025 re-release of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani.
Prior to its re-release, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, sold 41,052 tickets on BMS. The film later grossed approximately 19 crore INR, making it one of the highest-earning re-released films.
Meanwhile, Mawra Hocane recently married fellow actor Ameer Gilani in a grand ceremony on Thursday. Their wedding photoshoot took place at Lahore’s historic fort. The couple, who previously starred together in hit Pakistani dramas Sabat and Neem, have been in the spotlight for their long-standing friendship.
Mawra confirmed their marriage by sharing wedding pictures on Instagram, where she appeared in a traditional bridal ensemble alongside her husband.
