Kate Middleton and Prince William Bracing for Major Clash Ahead

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the beloved royal couple, are known for their competitive spirits during public engagements. Both are passionate sports fans, and they often attend major sporting events. In 2022, Kate became the patron of England’s Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League, while William has been the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) since 2016, succeeding his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

As the Six Nations rugby tournament progresses, the couple is expected to show some friendly rivalry, particularly as Wales faces England in the final week on March 15 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. The royal couple will likely be closely following the teams’ performances.

William, reportedly disappointed by his favorite team’s loss in their first game, had already sent his well-wishes to the Welsh squad before their opening match. Meanwhile, Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, has previously shared insights into the Middleton family’s deep love for rugby. In a 2014 Vanity Fair article, Pippa described how rugby matches were a central part of their family life, often marking social gatherings with quick meals and lively conversations. She recalled how a loss could leave their father in a state of gloom for the rest of the day, as if he had personally lost the match.
