Hasan Ali Confirmed for Warwickshire Return in 2025

Hasan Ali, the fast bowler from Pakistan, has confirmed his return to Warwickshire for the 2025 season, where he will play in all formats for the club. He is expected to be available from the beginning of the T20 Blast in May and will stay with the team until the end of September.

The 30-year-old pacer has not played since last season, when an elbow injury during his time at Edgbaston forced him out of action after taking 10 wickets in five Vitality Blast matches. Following the injury, he underwent surgery and has been rehabilitating with support from both Warwickshire and Pakistan’s medical teams.

“I mentioned last year that Edgbaston felt like a second home to me, and now it feels even more like a first home,” Hasan said. “I love playing for Warwickshire and for the Bears fans, and I hope they see the commitment and passion I bring to the team. The White Bear Cap I received in 2023 was one of my proudest achievements, and I look forward to creating even more special memories with the Bears next season.”

Hasan reflected on the previous year, noting how unfortunate his injury was. “I was bowling well and taking plenty of wickets in the Blast before the injury. But I am now back to full fitness, training hard, and focused on rejoining Warwickshire next season.”

In the 2023 and 2024 County Championship seasons, Hasan took 27 wickets in nine appearances for Warwickshire, along with 19 wickets in the Blast. His availability was limited last summer due to his surprise call-up to Pakistan’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. However, Warwickshire’s head coach Mark Robinson confirmed that they had been in talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to secure Hasan’s availability for an uninterrupted stint.

Robinson added, “Hasan’s call-up in May last year was unexpected and led to him missing the start of our County Championship season. This year, we’ve received reassurances from the PCB that he will be able to focus entirely on the Bears, which is fantastic news. His contract depends on his recovery progress, and we’re hopeful he will join us fully fit.”

“Hasan is an all-in performer who always gives his best. He’s a proven wicket-taker at the top level, and he was in great form with us before the injury. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, both on the field and in the dressing room, and he inspires his teammates. We’re looking forward to having him back in the Bears team.”
