President-elect Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, are at the White House for a tea with President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. This meeting, part of the customary transition of power, takes place ahead of Trump’s official inauguration later in the day. The tea serves as a symbolic moment of unity between the outgoing and incoming administrations before Trump heads to the Capitol for his swearing-in.
Earlier, the Trumps participated in a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, which was attended by notable figures such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew. Argentine President Javier Milei and former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson were also present, as reported by Bloomberg.
Trump’s inauguration schedule includes official guests arriving at the Capitol Rotunda at 10 AM for the ceremony. At noon, Trump will take the oath of office as the 47th president, administered by Chief Justice John Roberts. In the afternoon, Trump will review the troops and head to Capital One Arena for the indoor parade. The evening will see Trump attending three inaugural balls, where he will deliver speeches at each event.
