Elon Musk recently unfollowed popular streamer Asmongold after becoming involved in a controversy about Musk’s alleged use of account boosting in Path of Exile 2.
Musk, who has shared his passion for gaming in the past, including his experiences as a ‘Torbjorn’ main in Overwatch and his claimed skill in Diablo 4, found himself under scrutiny after accusations surfaced that he was using account sharing to elevate his rank in Path of Exile 2.
Asmongold, who had previously followed Musk on X (formerly Twitter), criticized Musk for what seemed to be obvious boosting, stating that Musk couldn’t be upset by the public criticism. Musk responded sharply, calling Asmongold “not his own man” and suggesting he required permission from his “boss” for his actions.
The drama escalated when Musk shared private DMs between himself and Asmongold, which discussed Asmongold’s YouTube editors. Musk hinted at releasing more private messages, intensifying the conflict. However, a community note clarified that Asmongold frequently discusses his Twitch-to-YouTube editing process openly, which involves his editors.
