Timothée Chalamet is set to return to Saturday Night Live (SNL) on January 25, 2024, where he will take on a dual role as both the host and musical guest. This will be Chalamet’s third time hosting the show, but it marks his debut as a live musical performer on the iconic sketch program.
NBC shared the announcement alongside other January hosts, including comedian Dave Chappelle, who will be joined by musical guest GloRilla on January 18. Chalamet, who is currently gaining attention for his performances in Wonka and A Complete Unknown, where he portrays a young Bob Dylan, is expected to showcase his musical talents on the SNL stage. His role as Dylan involved learning to sing and play guitar and harmonica, and fans are eager to see if he’ll perform Dylan-inspired songs or perhaps surprise the audience with a medley from his recent projects.
Chalamet has previously mentioned his love for Dylan’s music, with tracks like Girl From the North Country and Boots of Spanish Leather among his favorites. Though it’s uncertain which songs he’ll perform, his musical abilities have already impressed audiences in Wonka and other roles.
SNL is celebrating its 50th season, and a special anniversary broadcast, SNL50: The Anniversary Special, will air on February 16, 2025. Chalamet’s upcoming appearance is generating buzz as he continues to establish himself as both a skilled actor and performer.
